🔷 Saved Rounds 6.11.24
Welcome to Tuesday's Saved Rounds, where we send out all the goodies we couldn't squeeze into our Sunday newsletter.
They Said It
“If you’re outside the national security community, especially the security part of the national security community, and if you’re outside of the defense-industrial base, do you know who we are? I don’t think so. And that’s a real shame because taxpayers are paying $2.8 billion for it this fiscal year. I take this very seriously. You’re paying 15,000 people to do the work.”
— David Cattler, Director of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), raising awareness of what DCSA is and what it does—protecting the nation’s industrial base

Word of the Week
Remote Anti-Armor Mine System: RAAMs are artillery shells that scatter anti-armor mines. The system, developed during the Cold War, uses 155 mm howitzer projectiles to quickly and effectively deploy anti-tank mines miles away. One shell typically contains 9 mines.
Why it Matters: Over 10,000 RAAMS have been delivered to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023—and another 10,000 RAAMS are included in the recent American aid package to replenish Ukraine's supply.
